George Elizondo

George Elizondo is an award-winning, Parnelli nominated, well-respected video director. He’s made his name in concert touring and live events working with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Aerosmith, Sting, Chance The Rapper, Guns N’ Roses, Jennifer Lopez, the Dixie Chicks and Sir Elton John, among other. But Elizondo originally started out in the family business on the back lots of Hollywood. PLSN caught up with him to give us 1,000 words on his background, his work and what he loves about his job

Tyler Roach has a wide skill set, so as his career has grown, so have the various roles he fills on various projects. He is a lighting designer, lighting director, media server technician, systems and network designer, owner and partner. He first made a name for himself during his 16-plus years at Upstaging and solidified his reliable reputation over the last five years as the principal designer of his own firm, Eclipse Creativity.

Ash Nehru, one of the founders of d3 Technologies — which officially changed its name last month to disguise — is considered by many in the industry to be somewhat of a visionary.

Video Content Producer, Video Director and Lawyer-in-Training

Marcia Kapustin, principal of Kosher Pixels, is a video content producer and a video director, working extensively in concert touring. She has currently taken a hiatus from touring to get a law degree. She has worked with a variety of bands, most notably Paul McCartney and Metallica, since her first major tour as assistant video director for U2’s 1997-1998 PopMart tour.

Lighting Designer/Director Céline Royer

Céline Royer is a name that you might not have heard of… yet. This lighting designer/director/programmer has been quickly building her career profile and reputation throughout the industry. Originally from France, Royer has been based out of Los Angeles for the past three years. She most recently was the lighting designer for Linkin Park’s One More Light tour, which was unfortunately cancelled following lead singer Chester Bennington’s death. However, we are sure this won’t be the last opportunity to see Royer’s design work on a major concert tour. PLSN caught up with her to ask about her career path so far.

Entertainment is certainly in Jason Rudolph’s DNA. As the fourth-generation member of the industry, he carries on his family’s rich legacy into new areas of technology. Having started out as a lighting programmer, his mix of projects these days is 95 percent visuals and media-based. He has a busy career as a screens programmer and producer as well as, at times, a video technical manager on massive live shows and televised events like the Oscars and the Super Bowl Halftime Show, music festivals, corporate events, and occasional concert tours and architectural installations.

Well-respected throughout the industry, lighting programmer Steven Garner’s credits range from theatre to fashion shows; corporate events to live television. He’s now working on The President Show for Comedy Central. While busy doing last minute packing for a family trip to Vietnam, he took some time to speak with us about how he ended up as the guy behind a console lighting South African social rights activist and retired Anglican bishop Desmond Tutu, among many others.
