There are basic terms for every section of a working stage. Know your areas. “Wings” are the sides of the stage, and the “Fly Loft” or “Scene House” is the space above the stage. The stage floor is called the “Deck.” The part of the stage located downstage of the proscenium is called the “Apron” or, sometimes, the “Thrust.” The audience seating area is called is the “House.”
