In the past few years, manufacturers have been working on improving the brightness of the LED light engines for their in LED Ellipsoidal luminaires. These workhorse fixtures have gotten much better light output so these ellipsoidals can be used on any size stage along with some that offer the additional benefit of color mixing options alongside good white light output. Some have added a simulated tungsten effect of the ‘red shift’ you get when dimming traditional tungsten sources. Now you can mix LED ellipsoidals with tungsten lighting, or go all LED and not miss some of the beauty and warmth of tungsten.
