In Memoriam: Ross Lowell, an LD, cinematographer, inventor and entrepreneur, died Jan 10 at age 92. Lowell is the inventor of gaffer tape, a quick-clamp light mount system and Lowel-Light portable lighting gear used widely in the film and TV industry. Also, Todd Confessore, of Smithtown, N.Y. longtime stage manager and tour manager for many acts, died Feb. 6. He was 51.
