Benee, one of the first artists to stage a regular concert with no social distancing since the Covid-19 pandemic shut down gatherings worldwide in early 2020, performed a series of shows in her native New Zealand in October in support of her current hit single, “Supalonely,” with a production design by fellow Kiwi, Ben Dalgleish, who had also returned to New Zealand, which had clamped down hard on the virus as it was surging in other countries around the word. Dalgleish and the crew supported the show by thinking globally – with creative input from designers around the world – and locally, “spreading the love” and hiring from local vendors, even if that added to the complexity of staging the shows in four cities across the island nation.
