TAMPA, FL — Once known as the “cigar capital of the world,” Ybor City is now lighting up with LEDs, and fixtures from Chauvet helped Alan Kahana, the owner of the Castle, a nightclub, replace conventional gear without also having to make major changes to the building’s electrical system.

Polish Trade Fair Brightens with Lighting Gear

KRAKOW, Poland — It may be called the Music Media Show, but along with audio systems, lighting gear is figuring prominently in this Polish trade fair. A case in point was the booth for Robe’s Polish distributor, Prolight. The 200 square-meter booth was host to Robe’s “The Future is Digital” international roadshow.

LEDs Used for MoMA’s Cellophane House

NEW YORK — The five-story Cellophane House, part of Home Delivery, Fabricating the Modern Dwelling exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, is using an all-LED lighting installation from Philips and Arup Lighting that consumes 1.3 watts of energy per square foot, compared with the average house which uses between 1.7 to 2.3 watts per square foot.

Neis Named Barbizon Marketing Manager

GOLDEN, CO — Barbizon Lighting Company said Tobin Neis has assumed the role of marketing manager, taking over for Traci Lacey, who will be working part-time for the marketing team as a marketing project coordinator.  Neis, a part of the organization for over 12 years, was responsible for starting up the company’s Chicago office, and is now based in Lawrence, Kansas.
