George Mason University Upgrades Rigging System

FAIRFAX, VA — George Mason University (GMU) upgraded an outdated rigging system for its 2,000-seat concert hall with 45 of J.R. Clancy’s PowerLift automated line sets and the company’s SceneControl 500. The upgrade gives the venue the ability to mount more elaborate productions and simultaneously addresses safety concerns.

Osram, Traxon Technologies In Joint Venture

MUNICH — In a bid to win a bigger piece of the growing global market for LED systems and solutions, currently estimated at 700 million euros and growing at double-digit rates, Osram has forged a joint venture with Hong Kong-based Traxon Technologies Ltd.  The deal gives Osram a majority stake in the 135-employee company, which will continue to be based in Hong Kong with R&D operations in both China and Germany.

“Constellation” Lights Up Covent Garden Market

LONDON — The Covent Garden Market Halls are attracting visitors inside to see visual effects created for “Constellation,” a light show by United Visual Artists Ltd. to accompany musical performances and other holiday events. TarmLED GmbH & Co. KG supplied 578 two-meter-long, double-sided LED strips and 37 data power distribution units (DPDUs) for the fixtures decking the halls.

American DJ’s 46HP LED Pro plays different roles, serving as a stage light or for decorative effects in nightclubs and entertainment halls. It’s a DMX-compatible LED PAR can, with features including RGB color mixing, electronic dimming and color strobing. It uses 18 1-watt LEDs — six red, six green and six blue.
