Event Details

This is the third BCMF that ECLPS has done with LD Preston Hoffman. The basic overall concept has remained the same while the gear; placement and programming change slightly each time to keep it from feeling too static. The Martin Vipers worked really well on the city hall facade last spring so Preston kept them and focused on overhauling the VIP and beer garden areas using only LED fixtures this time.

One of biggest challenges this time was the layout and design was only finalized less than two weeks before the festival. The other challenge was that the construction of the new government center “T” transit stop had expanded about 15 feet into where the festival usually occupied. This demolished the main truck access to the site so, logistically, the lighting crew had to really coordinate much more with everyone else to ensure that they could get their trucks to the right places at the right times for load-in and load-out, without ending up impeding someone else and vice versa.
