Since my stories are always progressing as I go along on my journey I wanted to share a couple of things that I have been wanting to share but I haven’t got the chance yet.
First off I wanted to share how I get the tricks I get from my console by they way I have set everything up.
So on the top is the DMX Operator Pro. I can get 8 scenes per each page, which is 12 and 8 moving scene which I have to set step by step, which is a bitch to program! I don’t use the right side of the console because it has no flash buttons! SO I’ll only really use it if any other dimming console goes out. Not having an effects engine doesn’t help too much so I have to do a lot of manual triggering from the consoles faders. If I want make a static scene move I have to group what lights I want and have them set in the same exact axis movement so they don’t go flying the moment I touch the faders. I also will predetermine where the faders need to be for the next scene so they’re set in the right position. My cue lists are extremely important to me. I’m actually OCD about knowing where everything is because I am always updating it as the band learns new material. I also carry a master list that I’ve been working on over the years for when I actually can get the memory and movement out of my next console which is coming up soon! Here’s my current cue list and how I have it organized (I’ll explain it more below):
