Today I am in charge of eye candy. This involves throwing different pieces of media onto soft LED panels and some V9 hidef video modules that Nocturne has brought down to WTTW's TV studio in Chicago.
WTTW is a station in Chicago that shoots the"Sound Stage" concert series at their facility on a regular basis. I have worked with them on quite a few occasions, but not recently. We shoot Macey Gray next week. It's good to be back working with LD Herbie Gedwalles and his moving light programmer Dave Ambrosio. Dave was at another gig so he requested that I come down and sort out some video imagery with the Director who I know only as Joe.
It's a good time to catch up with old friends I haven't played with in a while. That's really what was nice about this gig today. Sitting around and bull shitting about non lighting stuff with Herbie while the crew assembles the rig. Of course tomorrow I will have to sort through thousands of playback files in my video library to find what Joe wants, but it's a good challenge. Nice to have someone else do the lighting while I just work the catalyst media server into the mix.
