If you have a permanent installation, like a theater, House of Worship, or other public space where people gather and you have a theatrical or architectural lighting system that uses DMX for control protocol, you need to have an emergency lighting control system in the event there’s a loss of power, or control signal that will drive emergency lighting to a specified level so people can safely leave the space. Pathway Connectivity has developed a DMX emergency lighting control solution—the Pathway Connectivity DMeXit. If you are building a new space—or renovating an older space into a public gathering space—we strongly recommend you check out Pathway’s DMeXit Emergency Lighting Control Solution.
The Pathway DMeXit is an emergency bypass controller for anywhere DMX lighting is used. The DMeXit fulfills the need for a compliant, UL924 and C22.2#141 listed solution for venues that use theatrical and dynamic lighting that is required to go to a specific level in emergency situations to satisfy minimum luminance levels for egress lighting. All of the outputs are optically isolated. The DMeXit is triggered in an emergency by an external contact closure or by a lack of an incoming DMX signal. Emergency mode triggers a fully customizable single universe of DMX from four isolated RDM compliant outputs. An Integrated Phase Loss Detection device can be factory installed within the enclosure.
DMeXit Emergency Application
The DMeXit sits between the lighting console and the lights. This allows it to send a DMX signal to illuminate emergency lights to the level necessary to allow for safe egress. It can work with a wet or dry contact closure from other building management systems, or the optional integrated phase loss detection device. Features include UL924 listed for USA and C22.2#141 for Canada; Four optically isolated outputs that are fully RDM compliant; Phase Loss detection available integrated into the enclosure—no need for a separate box; Factory Default Snapshot sets all levels at full; or works with a button to record a custom snapshot—the user recordable snapshot of a single universe of DMX will be transmitted to four separate data runs. No software is needed for the configuration of the DMeXit.
Labor-Saving Installation
Test button and status LEDs for Power, DMX Receive, and Emergency Mode are all accessible without having to remove the front cover. Three-Phase or Single-Phase Loss Detection is available and integrated into the enclosure, so there is no need for a separate box. A simple 2-wire Remote Restore button is an available accessory to allow the DMeXit to keep the lights on until the DMX Controller is ready and it’s safe to return to normal operation.
Flexible Operation Modes
Programmable Restore operations will restore after a time delay between one second and 10 minutes; Restore once a DMX input signal is present after an emergency condition; or Restore when “ready” with the Remote Restore button. The Pathway DMeXit comes with three mounting options—wall mount; 19” equipment rackmount (8U high); or flush-mount (fits between 16” center studs). Optional Phase Loss Detection – 1, 2 or 3 phase 120-277VAC with optional 347VAC single phase detection.
