The IRiS® ICON™ IP3 line, is designed for outdoor use with an IP65 protection rating for the front and IP54 for the rear. The IP3 is a multi-purpose product used in a range of markets including rental and staging, as well as in theater and in House of Worship applications. Here’s a deeper look inside the IP3 series.
IRiS® ICON™ IP3 Series
Like the other products in the IRiS ICON line, IP3 panels are built into an extremely lightweight aluminum die cast frame. At only 16 lbs. (IP3) 26.3 lbs. (IP3 XL), ICON panels are designed to be efficient and user-friendly. Panels are in locking position right out of the case, and lock together with a single flick of the thumb on the thumb locks. ICON video panels also include one-touch retractable metal corner protectors, blackout gaskets, and ground support locks within a two-module frame that allows for both front and back maintenance. With IP65 (front), IP54 (rear) ratings, the panels can be used outdoors without any worry about the weather conditions. When not in use, the IP3 panels ride in ATA-spec roto-molded cases that included self-aligning magnetic casters, which makes stacking cases for transport a breeze. ICON cases fit up to eight 500x500mm panels, or five 500x1000mm XL panels.
NovaStar Compatible
Blizzard is a major distributor for NovaStar video processing products. All IRiS LED video products are 100% compatible with NovaStar LED video controllers and processors. The IP3 series panels use adaptive HDR technology and are built around NovaStar® A8s receiving cards. These cards offer HDR10 and HLG support, automatic module calibration, and image rotation; along with advanced 3-in-1 SMD LED configuration. NovaStar offers a variety of all-in-one video controllers with features and connections to best suit the needs of a wide range of applications.
For the IP3, one of the NovaStar controllers that best pairs with the 3.9mm pixel pitch panels, is the NovaStar VX600 all-in-one controller that integrates video processing and control into one box. It has a maximum pixel width of 10,240, and a maximum pixel height of 8,192.
For mounting the ICON panels, single-and double-panel rigging/fly bars are available, and all ICON panels are packaged with one powerCON®-compatible 4.5’ interconnect cable, and one etherCON®-compatible 4.5’ interconnect cable.
No Fears for 7 Years™
Like many of their other video products, Blizzard has designed them to be tough and hardworking, and when needed, with easy repair out in the field. IP3 panels come with Blizzard’s No Fears for 7 Years™ 7-year limited warranty. NovaStar products are covered with a 3-year limited warranty. Both Blizzard and NovaStar offer U.S.-based service and support. Blizzard’s coverage is designed to keep the panels in the field, not in the repair shop.
The IP3 panel uses an SMD1921 LED configuration and is available in the standard 500 x 500mm panel size with 16,384 pixels, and in a 1,000 x 500mm panel with 32,768 pixels for quicker LED video wall builds or for different shaped LED screens. Both the IP3 and IP3 XL are 73mm thick. This LED panel product has the ability to produce curves of ±9° and has an adjustable brightness up to 4,500 NITs for the IP3 and 6,500 NITs for the IP3 XL. The panels have a maximum power draw of ≤800W/m2, and have a refresh rate of 2,800~3,840Hz. Certifications include FCC, ETL, CE, RoHS, and is IP65 rated (front) and IP54 (rear) for exterior usage.
