Virtual Production Product Focus: SUPERVOID and Nationwide Video

Share this Post:

PLSN’s April 2023 issue features details on new tools and solutions for virtual production from SUPERVOID (SVX-1 Media Server) and Nationwide Video (12G Fly-Pack).

SUPERVOID: SVX-1 Media Server

SUPERVOID, the Philadelphia-based studio of Drew Mercadante and Matt Keppler, designs and builds custom media server racks to meet the needs of shows large and small. Their SVX series media servers are designed to pack a big punch in a small footprint. They have taken their years of working with a range of media servers and created a solution for clients that is powerful enough to run big shows without breaking the bank.

The SUPERVOID SVX-1 Media Server includes everything users need for video playback, projection mapping, Notch I-Mag effects, pixel mapping, and more. Driven by custom spec PCs that come preinstalled with Notch, Touch Designer, and Resolume, SVX-1 servers are comfortable driving everything from club shows to stadiums. Each server comes with four 3G-SDI outputs, one 4K HDMI output, a 3G-SDI input, a built-in Ethernet switch, a dedicated SMPTE timecode input, a dedicated XLR input for audio-reactive effects, and two XLR outputs, all in a carry-on sized rack that sets up in minutes. Control options include timecode, Art-Net, OSC, and MIDI. With 24/7 tech support and remote management, you can be sure that no matter where you are, your show will go off without a hitch.

Nationwide Video: 12G Fly-Pack

Nationwide Video, an industry leading provider of rental equipment for the live events and production community has expanded its inventory of video production units to now include 12G-SDI Fly-Packs. As the foundation of the rental fleet of Fly-Packs, Nationwide designed these systems around FOR-A products that include MFR-4100 Routers, HVS-1200 Switchers, and FA-9600 multi-purpose Signal Processors.

Nationwide selected FOR-A for the main system components based on the company’s strong reputation for superior quality and reliability. Video Engineers will appreciate the rear-mounted 12G monitor to quickly verify patches and signal paths along with the rack-mounted PC/KVM for configuring system components. These Fly-Packs travel in two road cases with the FOR-A HVS492OU Control Panel, which arrives in a separate road case.
