Audiotek Keeps Costs in Check for $7 Million Irish Nightclub

The Mantra Garden Bar & Club, an investment of about $7 million, might have racked up an even more impressive cost total if Frank Murray, proprietor of sound and lighting specialist Audiotek, had opted for something besides the PR Lighting fixtures for the double-floor venue. “They deliver more bang for the buck,” Murray said, of the eight Solo 250 moving head fixtures from PR Lighting that are mounted on a circular truss that surrounds an LED centerpiece in the Mantra nightclub upstairs. There, the Solo 250s duke it out with lasers, scanners and an ever-changing LED peripheral landscape.

Murray, who is no stranger to PR Lighting gear, is also confident the cost-savings won’t just be for the short term. “I must have used these in over 50 venues now,” he said, adding that they are “exceptionally reliable.” He also said, “the color is consistent, and for an entry level product they perform way above their class, rock solid and flicker free.”

The Mantra nightclub also uses four PR Lighting Orland scanners, also run off a Light Jockey controller, while downstairs in Harveys Bar, Murray specified eight PR Lighting Pilot 150s as the main dancefloor effect, with eight scenes and eight programs stored in a PR Lighting PK60 memory controller.

Distributors MilTec (UK) Ltd supplied all the PR Lighting gear. The Deluxe Group of Portadown served as the main contractors for the Mantra project, which is operated by Kavanagh Group.
