It seems like we’ve had a couple of setbacks and some advances in the last month in the live event industry. Unfortunately the recent rise in Covid cases has made some acts such as Garth Brooks and the Florida Georgia line reschedule their dates. Others are continuing to plow through, though far from throwing caution in the wind. I went down to see Green Day today and they were strictly practicing safe protocols and expect their audience to adhere to their rules. Since Green Day has long been known for including fans on their stage, they’ve had to ensure any that wish to participate on stage are vaccinated. On another front, Lollapalooza Chicago was deemed not to be a super spreader with about 200 new cases coinciding with the 385,000 in attendance over that weekend.
