IP Ratings Explained
The IP, or Ingress Protection rating, rates the degree of protection provided against intrusion by tools, hands and fingers, dust, accidental contact, and water with mechanical casings and electrical enclosures. The first digit of the two-digit rating (e.g., IP65) represents solid particle protection on a 0-6 scale (dust and objects) and the second digit is for liquid ingress protection and it’s on a 0-8 scale. In both scales, zero equals no protection and the highest number equals 100 percent protection. We encourage you to go to the company websites and explore their full range of solutions.

The IP65 rated Color One’s custom optical design and fully homogenized output provides a smooth, uniform, and defined 19° beam, with outstanding color blend across the spectrum and no unsightly color separation shadows. Claypaky: Tambora Flash
Tambora Flash, with an IP66 rating is a hybrid fixture that can act simultaneously as a strobe, wash, and blinder, and is specifically designed with a modular approach for use in a linear array. The strobe section is based on two strips of very powerful white LEDs and a large beam angle aperture, capable of bringing a real impact of light into the show.
