When I came up in lighting in the late 70s/early 80s, SCR dimming had been well-established and had started moving to smaller 20A dimmers that allowed finer control than the early days of large capacity dimmers with a lot of lights ganged together. Today, with the prevalence of LED lighting and automated lighting, dimmers have lost their dominance to power distribution products. ADJ DP-DMX20L Dimmer Pack
The ADJ DP-DMX20L is a 4-channel portable and universal DMX dimmer/switch pack with a Maximum Load of 6.3A per channel / 15A total. Each channel can individually be set to dim or switch, and the pack can function as a one, two, or four channel device controlled by digital display. There are dual Edison sockets supplied so more than one effect can be connected to each channel. There are 16 built-in chase sequences, with speed and intensity control, available. The pack includes a reversible mounting plate to attach to pipe or truss, zero crossing circuitry, a master dimmer, and 3-pin DMX In/Out.
Chauvet PowerStream 4 IP Power Distribution
PowerStream 4 IP is an IP65 rated power distribution box with Seetronic IP Powerkon connectors. It has one input connector and four output connectors. Placed in-line, it taps into up to four connections out to fixtures, allowing users to pre-rig a truss and limit the need for additional cables. Designed with production rental houses in-mind, PowerStream 4 IP is compact, rugged, and comes with multiple rigging options—including M12 threaded insert for easy clamp mounting, as well as an integrated rail for easy strapping a safety cable attachment for hanging in your rig.
ETC ColorSource Relay Multiverse Receiver
ColorSource Relay Multiverse Receiver combines power sequencing and data distribution in a portable plug-and-play format. Compatible with City Theatrical Multiverse® wireless DMX technology right out of the box, ColorSource Relay Multiverse Receiver is ready to go with no programming required. ColorSource Relay supports RDM configuration and feedback, and conveniently mounts to pipes, fixture yokes, or walls. As soon as the Relay begins receiving DMX signal, it switches on up to 16A of connected fixtures. Auto-sequencing and zero-cross switching mitigate inrush nuisances automatically. When you are ready to call it a day, simply turn off your console and ColorSource Relay will automatically switch off after a configurable delay. 100m range indoors; up to 500m range line-of-sight, depending on conditions.
Leprecon ULD-360 Dimmer Pack
Leprecon ULD dimmers are equipped with dual 25A SCR’s, illuminated magnetic breakers, and over volt/over temp protection. Fully encapsulated chokes come standard with every dimmer. Through the display-based menu system, each channel can be defined as either a non-dim, fluorescent, or fixed intensity level. Options include Wireless Solution WDMX wireless DMX, 15A and 20A versions, and stage pin or Edison outputs. Each dimmer pack comes with a built-in mounting bracket. PRG Series 400® Power and Data Distribution System
The Series 400 System combines power, DMX, and Ethernet data through a single custom-designed trunk cable. On the power side, it supports up to 72 1.2kW devices; single, dual, and 3-phase output; 400A Cam-Lok in and out; and 120V and 208V output. The data system includes Ethernet switches with the ability to route any DMX universe to any DMX output connector in the system, along with complete electrical isolation. As a result, lighting systems can better accommodate the growing need for data and use less cable, and technicians can re-route signals from the user menus without making physical changes to the system. The system provides real-time diagnostics, so technicians spend less time troubleshooting.
Whirlwind PL-PM1RJ Power Meter
The UL listed Whirlwind PL-PM1RJ Power Meter is designed for monitoring voltage, current, and frequency on 3 phase Y power with three 120V AC legs or single-phase AC with two 120V legs. The PL-PM1RJ monitors line to neutral and line to line voltages and line current values. Additionally, neutral to ground voltage and line frequency are monitored. A new enhancement of the PL-PM1RJ now allows network connectivity for remotely viewing power distribution parameters in real time. IP based design permits Internet accessibility. The Whirlwind PL-PM1RJ Power Meter can be used with portable AC distribution and permanent power distribution systems. Available without network interface—Model PL-PM.
