ER Productions plans to celebrate its 10th anniversary by taking on its greatest challenge yet: Attempting a Guinness World Records title for the Largest Laser Show at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, on the LDI: Live Outside stage.

It’s not surprising that brands and artists want to create unforgettable live and virtual experiences. The “social media moment” isn’t just a buzzword these days, and for production and event companies, this means pushing creative boundaries.

One of the pioneers creating groundbreaking visual effects is ER Productions. Founded 10 years ago by Marc Webber and Ryan Hagan, the award-winning laser show and laser system design specialist provides lasers for concert tours, television, advertising and high-profile events.

Originally based in the U.K., the company’s impressive portfolio of projects, includes tours for Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, Enrique Iglesias & Pitbull, Queen, Metallica, Katy Perry and brand projects for Jaguar and General Electric, to name but a few. With so many cutting edge shows to their name, it’s almost impossible to single out a recent project that typifies the company’s ethos of breaking new ground.

‡‡         A World Record Attempt

However, having launched a U.S. operation in Las Vegas, NV three years ago, ER Productions plans to celebrate its 10th anniversary by taking on its greatest challenge yet: Attempting a Guinness World Records title for the largest laser show at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, on the LDI: Live Outside stage.

Ryan Hagan, co-founder of ER Productions comments, “We opened our first U.S. office in Las Vegas seven years after we started the company, and the City of Lights has been very kind to us. For our 10th birthday, we wanted to create a truly memorable laser show that people will be talking about in years to come.”

Marc Webber, co-founder of ER Productions adds, “Live Design International 2017 provides the perfect framework for this unique event, and having our U.S. headquarters close at hand means that we can hit the ground running when it comes to this extensive installation of laser power.”

More than 300 laser fixtures will be deployed for the record-setting attempt. But ER Productions’ warehouses in Las Vegas and London have huge inventories, and the company expects to be able to take on a project of this scale in addition to its existing show commitments.

‡‡         New and Improved

With a calendar packed with tours and events through to 2018, it’s hard to believe ER Productions has time to do anything else. However, it recently launched two significant laser technologies. This includes the BB3 — the latest fixture in the manufacturer’s Beamburst range — and Kinekt, a unique modular laser unit that can connect to any number of additional units producing an endless array of laser beams as long or wide as a venue will allow in any direction.

“Devising new solutions and taking our existing range to the next level is central to our ethos. We’re always trying to improve upon our most popular systems and bring our experiences on the road back into the shop,” says Ryan Hagan.

The BB3 certainly created a wow factor on the recent U.S. leg of Faith Hill and Tim McGraw’s Soul2Soul tour, which saw an array of BB3s placed across the downstage edge enveloping country’s most notable power couple in beautiful beam work and diffracted effects.

With the expansion of the company’s global infrastructure, ER Productions has two new laser systems in the pipeline, and it launched an SFX range in the U.S. to complete its nose-to-tail offering.

While pushing the boundaries of its technology, ER Productions is also bringing lasers to projects that extend beyond live performance and events, venturing into the realms of architecture and scenic design, such as the corporate gig for Jaguar pictured below. However, cutting-edge equipment alone will not do the job — the rest of ER Productions’ success is due to the expertise it uses to create magical moments.
