LightAct, a provider of media server technology and software for live events, is proud to announce its continued collaboration with long-time partner Rightway Audio Consultants for the media server programming of Chinese pop artist Zhang Bichen’s (Diamond Zhang) highly anticipated 2024 concert tour. This partnership not only highlights LightAct’s innovative capabilities but also reaffirms its dedication to customer support, development, and lasting relationships within the entertainment industry.
For Zhang’s tour, Rightway Audio Consultants utilized LightAct’s media servers to bring complex and interactive visual content to life, much of it designed in Notch. With integrated NDI 5 streaming, the combined AV system supports smooth, high-definition video content delivery, while BlackTrax tracking technology feeds real-time positional data into LightAct, creating responsive, interactive visuals that dynamically follow Zhang’s movements on stage.
Zengxin Liu, the lead LightAct programmer from Rightway Audio Consultants, shared his thoughts on the collaboration: “It is really gratifying to see how quickly LightAct team implements features based on our suggestions and how fast LightAct software reached standards of quality required in live events like this one.” His experience reflects the importance of nimble development combined with LightAct’s steadfast commitment to the reliability of the overall system. At the heart of this production setup is LightAct’s reActor xr media server, specifically designed to handle the most demanding real-time content and Notch visuals in live performances. It features top-tier GPUs, substantial amounts of RAM, and flexible storage options, ensuring reliability and consistently meeting the needs of high-demand installations and live events.
To meet the show’s unique demands, the reActor xr is equipped with a range of Expansion Modules, enhancing its functionality and flexibility:
- Out8: delivers four additional 4K video outputs, maximizing display configurations for large-scale visuals.
- Sync: ensures Genlock and FrameLock synchronization across all outputs, critical for perfectly synced content across multiple screens.
- VIO: provides versatile video input and output options.
- AIO: supports advanced audio inputs and outputs as well as LTC timecode ingest.
