There’s still time to register for ESTA’s Plugfest, where manufacturers and developers test their lighting products for interoperability. Plugfest 2024 takes place October 24 through October 27, 2024, at the Marriott Dallas/Fort Worth in Westlake, TX. The scheduled hours are 9:00am-11:00pm CDT Thursday through Sunday, with meeting blackout windows every evening to provide dedicated time for Plugfest activities. Attendance is free for both ESTA members and non-members. Book your hotel room by October 1 to secure a discounted rate.

They anticipate a larger-than-usual turnout for this event, so please reserve your spot by emailing them at plugfest@esta.org to express your interest in attending. ESTA’s hotel room rates are only valid through October 1, so make your reservation today. Visit esta.org/meetings and click the “Reserve a Hotel Room” link at the top of the page. On that same page, you will also find a link to an ESTA flight discount through United.

ESTA’s Plugfest is a unique opportunity to connect your lighting products with those of other manufacturers to test and resolve compatibility challenges. Attendees from around the world bring controllers, intelligent lights, control protocol analyzers, and other network-connected components to improve their product experiences. Plugfest has become a vital step in many global manufacturers’ product development roadmaps.

This is a chance to take advantage of the vast knowledge and experience of the CPWG, one of the Technical Standards Program’s largest working groups. Members of the E1.11 (DMX512), E1.20 (RDM), E1.31 (sACN), and E1.33 (RDMnet) task groups who helped develop the standards will be available to answer questions and assist with our protocols. ESTA invites the industry to drop in, test your gear, refresh your knowledge, and become a part of the Plugfest community. Particular interest is expected from participants in the testing of products to the BSR E1.20 Remote Device management update as well as remote file transfer and firmware upload capabilities outlined in the BSR E1.37-4 draft standard.

An informal kick-off presentation will be given each morning at 9:00am. First-time attendees are especially encouraged to attend this orientation event.
