NAMM continues to build on its vast collection of videotaped oral history interviews, preserving thousands upon thousands of conversations, most of them between NAMM’s Dan Del Fiorentino and the movers and shakers within the MI industry along with live event production pros. Three recently posted interviews feature industry veterans with Indiana roots, including Jeff Van Duyn, Dan Kasting and Mark Hogue.

Jeff Van Duyn, longtime stage manager for the Parnelli Awards, credits much of his career success on two fellow Hoosiers featured on NAMM’s recent oral history posts: Dan Kasting and Mark Hogue. To see a full bio and watch the NAMM Oral History interview, CLICK HERE.

Dan Kasting’s career highlights include running sound for REO Speedwagon as they opened for the Allman Brothers Band in 1972, touring Japan with Manhattan Transfer, crafting custom speakers for Bob Seger, collaborating with Dave Shadoan on carbon fiber monitors, and installing Meyer sound systems at the iconic Crystal Cathedral.  Mark Hogue, like Kasting, got his big touring stage manager break in 1972, joining Maureen McGovern as her hit “The Morning After” climbed the charts. After providing audio for Bluegrass festivals, he helped microphone makers enhance products aimed at the live sound environment by inviting their engineers on his tours.
