Each year, PLSN honors regional lighting production companies with our Hometown Hero award. This award honors the best regional lighting production company in six regions across North America: the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Northwest, Southwest, and Canada. This award—from nominations to winners—is selected by the you, the people in the entertainment technology industry, because you truly know who the Hometown Heroes are in the industry.
This is a three-part process. Anyone can participate in the initial nomination process and all regional production companies are encouraged to promote themselves, promote on social media, email their clients, etc. The top six of each region are published in our September issues.
That is why, for the nominees list, we are looking for Everyone’s input on the best regional lighting production company in the U.S. and Canada. Let us know your favorites (and, yes, remember you CAN and SHOULD nominate your own company). We want to know the top companies in YOUR region.

Nominations are due by August 23, 2024, at 5 p.m. PDT.
Once nominations are closed and tallied, 36 regional finalists will then be named. PLSN magazine subscribers will then vote for the best-in-region Hometown Hero company for each of the six regions. That will narrow the 36 companies down to the six regional winners (one from each region). The six regional winners will then be in the running for the singular honor of being named Hometown Hero Lighting Company of the Year Award, and they will appear on the Parnelli Awards ballot for voting in November. Parnelli voting will determine which of the six finalists will be presented with the Parnelli Award for Hometown Hero Lighting Company of the Year at the awards dinner set for January 24, 2025, in conjunction with the NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA.
So it all starts NOW with the nomination!!
