Brompton Technology: Tessera SQ200 8K LED Video Processor
The first product in Brompton’s Gen 3 range is the flagship 8K Tessera SQ200 processor, announced at this year’s NAB show. The 8K Tessera SQ200 processor delivers the same core feature set of the SX40 and full backward-compatibility with existing Brompton-powered LED panels, as well as existing XD data distribution units, but now supporting 8K and 4x4K workflows and added support for AV-over-IP protocols such as ST2110 and IPMX. The SQ200 brings a 20-fold increase in power over the SX40, ensuring ample headroom for many years of continued feature innovation. It offers 100Gb Ethernet connectivity to support 8K video-over-IP at 60fps and 12bpc over a single cable. There is also a second 100Gb Ethernet input for a fully redundant video-over-IP network.
Claypaky: Rhapsodya RGBAL LED Fixture
The Rhapsodya low-noise multi-spectral RGBAL LED fixture—with a beam angle potential of 6° to 60°—that’s managed by a specially crafted, internally developed firmware algorithm. It offers whisper-quiet operation—even at full output, which is 24,000 lumens. Features include ACCUFRAME to maintain sharp shuttering in just two focal planes; LINEGUARD frost system for smoother and softer entrances; ABSOLUTE POSITION for pan and tilt control; TONEDOWN for noise levels as low as 27 dB; ACCUTUNE for precise control over the multicolor LED engine; COLORMATCH for matching output and color temperature for a range of units; and COLORSTRING for independent control over color effects and graphics. The color wheel offers additional red, green, and blue options with an extended color palette.
Elation: KL CYC LED Cyc/Footlight
The NAB Show Product of the Year Award winner, in the Location/Studio Lighting category, was Elation’s KL CYC LED cyc/footlight. The KL CYC uses an asymmetrical reflector and RGBMA color system, allowing a color match to many other fixtures in the KL and Fuze ranges. Its high CRI engine achieve blends of diffused light that can cover significant heights. With its stylized, low-profile housing, the KL CYC is also an ideal choice for footlight positions on the downstage edge. Available in one-meter and half-meter models, its fan-less operation makes it a silent and reliable choice for broadcast environments of all types. It includes calibrated color temperature control, green shift adjustment, and the CMY and RGB emulation modes.
X-Laser: Triton T Series IP64 Laser Projector
The Triton T Series of IP64 laser projectors includes the T-5 (5W) and T-2 (2W). Both feature compact housing enabling quick, flexible rigging and maintain IP64 protection in upright or flat orientations. They have full RGB direct-injection laser diode modules, tuned for balance and color mixing on par with today’s lighting fixtures, and a zoom range of 0.1° to 45°. Triton T Series lasers capably produce colors that are typically difficult for lasers to achieve, such as berry, orange, and lime. X-Laser’s exclusive Mercury Laser Control System enables programming directly from lighting consoles using the same show file and workflow; no need for external software or triggering via media servers. They patch right into the console, and use DMX, sACN, Art-Net, with RDM capability.
