Lady A, the multi-platinum, award-winning country band, has taken a groundbreaking step in redefining concert experiences with their latest Request Line tour. The production has transformed from a traditional concert setting into a cozy living room feel, providing fans an unparalleled opportunity to connect intimately with the band.

Lighting Designer Mike Marcario has been working with Lady A since 2020, and with the Request Line tour, the band wanted a more comfortable environment. The tour’s name set the stage for the design and vision of the production. In partnership with Marcario, Integrated Production Solutions (IPS) assisted in bringing the lighting concept to life. The result is a blend of scenic beauty and adaptable functionality, catering to venues of diverse shapes and sizes.

At the heart of the lighting design are fixtures that seamlessly double as set pieces themselves, such as the Mega Lite Circa Scoop XL. The lighting arrangement also includes a captivating upstage set piece illuminated from the floor, featuring Elation’s Chorus Line 16s, evoking an enchanting ambiance that perfectly complements the tour’s intimate theme. “The Request Line tour design was a departure from the conventional big and bold approach. Our goal was to create an immersive experience that feels like you’re sharing a living room with Lady A,” expressed Marcario. A highlight of the tour is the stunning chandelier centerpiece, illuminated using a single GLP JDC1 strobe fixture suspended within the set piece. “The chandelier not only illuminates flawlessly but also adds an element of authenticity to the living room atmosphere,” Marcario noted.

Adapting to the constraints of touring logistics, the production had to remain lean and versatile. IPS’ recommendation of the Ayrton Ghibli profile fixtures proved to be a successful fit, offering lightweight and low-power options that effortlessly met the tour’s demands. CHAUVET STRIKE 1 blinders, meticulously selected for crowd lighting, enhanced interaction between the artists and their fans and showcased impactful design. Marcario applauded IPS for their unwavering dedication and attention to detail. “Working with Nicholas, Nathan, and the entire IPS team has been an absolute pleasure. Their commitment to excellence is evident in every design I’ve brought to them.”

The Request Line tour is an embodiment of Lady A’s musical journey spanning 17-years and their enduring connection with fans. The integration of audience requests and dynamic lighting sequences, guided by Marcario and executed by IPS, makes each performance an authentic celebration of music and its profound impact. “We’re immensely proud to have partnered with Lady A and Mike Marcario to deliver a production that seamlessly aligns with the tour’s vision,” commented Nicholas Brown, CEO of Integrated Production Solutions. “IPS is committed to pushing boundaries and creating memorable experiences for artists and fans alike.” As Lady A’s Request Line tour continues to captivate audiences across various venues, IPS remains a driving force behind the scenes, elevating concert experiences and setting a new standard for immersive musical journeys.
