As new LED spherical structures are getting worldwide attention, it is a good time to note that in 2022 Unilumin Group built a large LED spherical screen in Saudi Arabia which amazed visitors from around the world. For the Riyadh Season 2022, Unilumin created a spherical LED screen with a 35-meter diameter, breaking the 2022 Guinness World Record. Unlike any flat or angled display system, every LED spherical screen is customized based on its diameter and inner structure. For the Riyadh Season 2022 project, Unilumin provided a complete integrated solution for the LED spherical screen, including project creative design, large-scale outdoor steel structure design, customized LED screen modules, programmable digital control system and software, as well as spherical digital creative content.
The spherical screen structure is not only a stunning aesthetic artwork but also a functional space that hosts entertainments. The sphere exterior was illuminated every day and night with immersive digital content, attracting tourists from all over the world. Inside, the space is used as a venue for catering, live music, and immersive experiences of cinema and performance, supporting thousands of jobs and delivering an economic benefit for Saudi Arabia. It has now become a new commercial landmark for Saudi Arabia.
In addition to the spherical screens, Unilumin provided more than 10,000 square meters of LED ceiling screens, outdoor high-definition, creative digital contents and software control systems for Riyadh Season 2022. Through immersive digital content and viewing experiences, visitors enjoyed different cultures of China, the United States, France, Japan, Greece and other countries and regions in the Boulevard World park throughout the multi-months events.
Unilumin had previously supported the Riyadh Season 2021, suppling nearly 7,000 square meters of LED high-definition outdoor displays and creative content for that year’s events. With the LED Spherical Screens Structure for Riyadh Season 2022, combining art and entertainment, with business, catering and events in the city, Unilumin built a truly immersive entertainment space which proved the success of the idea of creative and efficient operation of an LED spherical screen structure.
