PERFORMANCE FLOORING OPTIONS
Harlequin Floors
Recognized as world leaders in advanced technology flooring for dance, performing arts, entertainment and events, Harlequin Floors is established worldwide with operations in the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and Australia. Harlequin works diligently to provide performance floors that transform stages into extraordinary spaces for dance and performing arts. Harlequin’s range of vinyl marley floors can be laid on any hard, smooth sub-floor, used alone, or as a performance surface on a sprung dance floor. For live events, Harlequin’s event and display floors are the industry choice for TV and film production, concerts, photography, product launches, fashion shows, and exhibitions. Some of their outstanding and award-winning products include Harlequin Reversible™ Chroma Key Blue/Green, the perfect solution for digital compositing; Harlequin Hi-Shine™, providing a shiny, reflective surface sure to make an impact; and their versatile Harlequin Reversible™ in Black/White or Black/Gray. Harlequin also offers a range of portable, semi-permanent, and permanent sprung floors to ensure performers’ safety.
Two of their most recent innovations are Harlequin RockSure™ and Harlequin Liberty® Switch. Harlequin RockSure™, an extremely tough, easily managed, polymer composite stage surface designed for use in live performances spaces including concert venues, theaters and school auditoriums. It is abrasion resistant making it suitable to support Genie and scissor lifts, castors, and is flame retardant, safe in fire risk areas (e.g., pyrotechnics). The Harlequin Liberty® Switch is an innovative new professional multi-use floor system that switches from rigid to sprung—in minutes—just with the touch of a button. The system is designed for facilities that regularly put on both dance and theatrical performances, and so require both a sprung and rigid floor in the same performance space or venue. Liberty Switch is comprised of base units, with drive and control mechanisms, topped with Harlequin Liberty® LatchLoc sprung floor panels. This transformation ability is achieved by using moving carriages that engage with stop blocks on the underside of the Liberty panels to create a rigid floor and disengage to create a sprung floor. The base units house the moving carriages, which are connected by rods running on a carrier rail powered by electric actuators located at the ends of each row. Each actuator and associated controller are linked to a master control unit located off-stage. The modular system can be custom designed to incorporate features such as traps, lifts, and revolves as required. Liberty Switch provides a cost-effective alternative to ballet wagons or labor and storage costs of swapping floors between performances.
Harlequin Floors is committed to continually delivering the highest quality products using new, advanced materials – supplying the performing arts, live events and education industries around the world with the highest quality vinyl marley floors, sprung floors and stage floor systems. SPEIALTY RIGGING AND THEATRICAL EQUIPMENT
IA Stage
InterAmerica Stage, Inc. was founded in 1989 and quickly gained respect as innovative problem solvers with an impeccable safety record. An established leader in the entertainment industry, IA Stage is a licensed stage/general contractor providing project management support, inspection, and renovation services worldwide. They specialize in motorized rigging, show action equipment, wire tension grids, and entertainment structures. With a reputation built on excellent service, their work can be seen in theaters, broadcast studios, and theme parks around the world.
Among their innovative product line is SkyDeck™, IA Stage’s feature product, a patented modular tension wire grid. Originally developed to provide safe access to overhead equipment, it is the most efficient and safest tension wire grid on the market today. Because it is physically impossible to fall through a SkyDeck™, overhead crews can work confidently on a comfortable, near-flush walking surface while work continues unimpeded on the deck below. SkyDeck™ is engineered to be lightweight & high strength, easily configurable, and is built for rapid installation. Its patented design makes it lighter than traditional tension wire grid systems, meaning less support steel and less cost overall. With a maximum point load of 300 lbs. and a live load of 20 PSF, SkyDeck™ can support speakers, lighting instruments, and rigging equipment while serving as an interstitial floor for access. These grids are designed for use in any area where unimpeded light, sound, or air flow is desired. Grid panels are custom manufactured to accommodate any building’s shape and shipped to site ready for installation. SkyDeck™’s unique self-preserving design maximizes cable life and strength. Wires are guided and supported within the low-profile frame so only horizontal force is ever applied to the end fittings, mitigating wear and tear on the cables and eliminating the need for re-tensioning throughout the life of the grid.
Another highly-regarded product of IA Stage is their SkyAscend™. The self-climbing hoist is the motorized solution to A/V and rigging headaches. Make equipment inspections and maintenance fast, easy, and safe by bringing SkyAscend™ down to a comfortable working height. Feet never have to leave the ground. It really is the affordable way to painlessly add motorized rigging to a venue. Custom designed to suit the needs of any venue, SkyAscend™ holds lighting instruments and sound equipment inside and below the body of conical truss. Their self-climbers are equipped with a pantograph feeder system that elegantly manages power and data cables. With live load capacities ranging from 800 lbs. to 1,500 lbs., the system can span long distances between roof framing members without deflection, keeping truss straight and attractive for front-of-house use. IA Stage can manufacture line shafts in multiple configurations dependent on the building structure. All their line shafts are equipped with redundant braking and their line of hoists includes Fire Curtain Line Shaft Hoists.
