Alchemy 7: The New-Generation Fresnel Moving Head from DTS

Share this Post:

DTS’s Alchemy line, of which Alchemy 7 is the newest fixture, already caught the attention of the theater and television industries for its high-quality light, extended color palette and classical look. This luminaire has been included as key light in TV shows, it has been a protagonist among wash fixtures setups in international theaters, as part of the lighting scenography in immersive events and concerts, and so on. Here’s an overview video from DTS on the Alchemy 7 Fresnel wash light:

Alchemy 7 boasts greater lighting performance through its 250mm Fresnel lens and a six-color LED chip by emulating several types of light source and reproducing how they behave when filtered by various kinds of dichroic filters, among other features. Since its previous iterations, a more powerful source has been implemented in Alchemy 7 as well, reaching 800W and delivering up to 22,000 lumens.

This extra-bright light beam is projected through a 15° to 50° zoom range, evenly diffused at all times. Regarding its framing system, Alchemy 7 features two blades operating on discrete planes, allowing a complete curtain effect. The whole system rotation (+/- 100°) and the single blade rotation (+/- 30°) ensure a convenient mean to direct your light. Distortion is kept to a minimum, thanks to the proprietary optical system (patent pending).

Alchemy means silence and precision: it was so with 3 and 5, it is now with 7 as well. High CRI and TLCI values all-around, different operating modes and the freedom to do all of the above.
