Listen to PLSN with New Text-to-Speech Player

Readers of PLSN and FOH magazines can now enjoy listening to the magazines — including features, news stories, and more on our websites via the new text-to-speech audio player feature on stories. This enhancement to our website content continues our focus on always improving our reader’s experience.

Terry Lowe, President of Timeless Communications, publisher of PLSN and FOH magazines, says implementing this new feature is a natural step in enhancing the reader experience. “Making our media more convenient for our readers is the priority here,” Lowe said. “With every story in PLSN in an audio format you can listen to our stories while driving, walking, working, or anywhere that listening is more convenient than reading!”

Debi Moen, Co-Editor of PLSN, says the new feature works well with news items, flashback stories and especially the concert production articles. “News which is written to tell a story lends itself well to the audio feature,” she says. “We all spend much of our days online looking at screens, so being able to hear the news — much like clicking into a podcast or tuning into a radio station — is a refreshing and convenient change.”

Co-Editor of PLSN, Michael S. Eddy notes, “As PLSN, and of course our industry itself, has such a strong focus on technology and innovation, it’s great to have the ability to grant more accessibility to our readers and subscribers. Technology is best leveraged when it offers an easy user-interface and improves the user experience; this new text-to-speech feature on PLSN’s website does both as we continue to bring the latest industry news and innovations to you.”

This new text-to-speech audio player for the online stories on the PLSN website is easily accessible. When you click the headline link to the expanded online article, look under the headline and social media links and you’ll find the audio player button “Listen to this article.” Simply click on the play button to launch the audio reading of the story. We hope you find this feature engaging. Thanks for tuning in!
