2022 Plugfest Dates Announced

Like the rest of our industry, the ESTA Plugfest event went dark during the recent pandemic, but now, with pent up demand at an all-time high, event organizers are excited to announce that the ESTA Control Protocols Plugfest will take place September 16-18, 2022 at the D/FW Marriott Solana in Westlake, Texas. This is the 18th edition of this informal testing laboratory, and it is offered free of charge to both ESTA and non-ESTA members!

ESTA’s Plugfest is a unique opportunity to connect your lighting products with those of other manufacturers to test and resolve network compatibility challenges. Attendees bring controllers, intelligent lights, control protocol analyzers, and other network-connected components. People attend from around the world to pursue improvement of their customers’ product experiences. The ESTA Plugfest has become a required step in many global manufacturers’ product development roadmaps. The scheduled hours are 9:00am-11:00pm (CDT) Friday thru Sunday. Members of the E1.11 (DMX512), E1.20 (RDM), E1.31 (sACN), and E1.33 (RDMnet) task groups who authored the standards will be available to answer questions and help explain our protocols.

This is a chance to take advantage of the knowledge and experience of the Control Protocols Working Group—one of the Technical Standards Program’s largest working groups. ESTA invites the industry to drop in to test your gear, refresh your knowledge, and become a part of the Plugfest community.

Anticipating a larger than usual turnout for this event, please email plugfest@esta.org to express your interest in attending so ESTA can reserve a chair for you.
