Bandit Lites is exceedingly proud to share that long time clients Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood were bestowed the CMT Music Award for Video of the Year for If I Didn’t Love You. The duo also collected the trophy for Collaborative Video of the Year.
“Winning is more exciting to me now than ever,” Aldean said following the show. “It’s one thing to win awards when you’re a shiny new penny, but it’s another thing when you’ve been in the game for a long time, and you’re competing with all the shiny new pennies. After 17 years, I’ve never won this particular award. It means a lot to me, always. We all want to win. It’s not why we do it, but it’s nice to be recognized.”
The award was voted on by fans during the show’s three-hour telecast, a feat that Underwood cheerfully acknowledged following the win. “My fans have been voting for me since day one of my career, and that’s why I’m here in the first place,” Underwood said. “The fact they’re still voting is very special, and I don’t take that lightly. I’m so grateful they’ve carried me through, and we’re still here, and I’m still making music that I love.”
Bandit illuminated a live performance of the song for the 2021 AMA Awards with LD Keith Hoagland, where Underwood and Aldean serenaded each other against the jaw-dropping backdrop of the Nashville skyline.
“Bandit has been with both Carrie and Jason since the start of their careers,” said Bandit Lites Chair and founder, Michael T. Strickland. “We are very excited to have these two stellar artists collaborate and even more excited to see this great song be so honored. This tune is an amazing piece of magic, from two of the world most talented artists. The live version of this song that Bandit had the honor to illuminate is simply stunning. We offer Carrie, Jason, and their teams a huge thank you for allowing us to be a part of their families.”
