The design for MJ: The Musical, which opened on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre on Feb. 1, was brought to life by scenic designer Derek McLane and lighting designer Natasha Katz with projection design by Peter Nigrini. Both Katz and McLane worked with PRG who provided the scenic, lighting, and automation for the highly anticipated production. Here Katz and McLane discuss their design solutions for the musical, which centers around the making of Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour.
