ILD Render Supports Direct Output to ShowNET Laser Mainboard

The Laserworld Group announces the latest upgrade to ILD Render, an innovative creative tool for laser show professionals to convert vector graphics and animations from Blender and InkScape—both 2D and 3D—to a laser-show compatible file format. ILD Render is a tool for designers and creative minds to directly use their 2D and 3D artworks with laser output.

With its latest upgrade, ILD Render now supports direct output to the ShowNET laser mainboard, which is standard in many laser systems, e.g., the Laserworld Diode and Purelight Series as well as in the tarm units or RTI devices. ILD Render is also compatible to the external ShowNET interface, which can be used with any laser system with ILDA interface.

The challenge with converting vector graphics and animations to laser-show file formats, is optimizing the vectors in a way that the laser can properly display them without having to draw too many points and thus creating a flickering laser output. Therefore, it is essential to have a direct output from the laser while creating content.

Having ILD Render now support the direct output to any laser system, with ShowNET laser mainboard or external ShowNET interface, is especially helpful as the output is directly rendered in real time, so all work created in Blender or InkScape can directly be output to the laser. This is a huge advantage in the creative process with lasers, as graphics artwork is the most demanding challenge for any laser system. By having the direct output option to ShowNET, the optimization of the content to the laser system can be directly done in Blender or InkScape, which saves a lot of time in the creative process.

As a lot of laser systems have the ShowNET laser mainboard built-in as standard, the integration to ILD Render adds another magic stick to the laser designers’ toolbox.

To make use of the new integration, start Blender or InkScape and then ILD Render. ShowNET will directly be available as output device and the creative work in Blender or InkScape can be started as usual—just with direct laser output.

The integration to ILD Render opens up a lot of new possibilities: Blender is THE open-source 3D animation software and InkScape is THE open source vector drawing tool. Both are very common amongst visual content creators.

With using ILD Render for creating 2D or 3D content with the use of Blender or InkScape it is possible to directly create standard ILDA files, which are compatible to pretty much every laser software in the market, including Showeditor and Showcontroller.
