Recently, the Society of Properties Artisan Managers (S*P*A*M) held another of its informative online S*P*A*Minars, this one called Proper Prop Presenting that covered Portfolio Reviews and Tips. They brought together three prop professionals to review two early career prop portfolios and gave suggestions and guidance to the artisans. Following that they shared some general pointers and tips as well as answered questions about resumes and portfolios from the attendees. Here is a video replay of that S*P*A*Minar:

The three reviewers are from three different parts of the business and as such are looking for slightly different things in a resume and portfolio. Hearing these differences could help attendees learn how to focus their portfolio to the right audience depending on their goals. The reviewers for this webinar were Jessica Rosenlieb, the Prop Shop Supervisor at regional theater Cleveland Playhouse, Adriane Binky Donley, Properties Director at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts and Chair of the Props Design & Management MFA at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Ben Hohman, a Prop Director at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. They shared their best tips, suggestions, and advice on how to best sell yourself so you can nab that dream job.
