Programmer, author, and longtime PLSN Columnist Brad Schiller has a new book out aimed for the lighting programmer—The Automated Lighting Programmer’s Handbook, fourth edition. As with the previous editions, this new book provides respected and clear coverage of the process of programming automated lighting fixtures from basic principles to advanced production preparations.

This handbook helps lighting programmers and designers with the creative and operational challenges they face in their rapidly evolving industry. Concepts, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a successful production are covered as well as troubleshooting, much needed information on workflows, technology, work relationships, console networking, digital lighting, and more. About Brad Schiller
With over 30 years experience in the lighting industry, some say Brad Schiller is an industry veteran. Starting his career in the mid 1980’s he worked as Technician and Programmer on many different productions. Over the years he has been employed by High End Systems, Vari*Lite, and Martin by Harman. Schiller shares his knowledge through writing and teaching. His books have helped countless people in the entertainment lighting field. For over 18 years he has been a featured columnist for Projection, Lights & Staging News (PLSN) with his Feeding the Machines column. A self-described “lighting geek” his deep-rooted passion for lighting began at a very early age. Schiller’s career has allowed him countless opportunities to work around the globe, and across diverse facets of the industry.
