Debi Moen’s May 2021 “Designer Watch” column checks in with LDs preparing to hit the road again this summer. Darkroom Creative’s Seth Jackson and Nathan Alves are working with Eddie “Bones” Connell on Toby Keith’s “Country Comes to Town” tour, which launched May 15 at a new outdoor venue, Coachella Crossroads in Coachella, CA. For Toby Keith, it’s “a larger production show than we have done in years,” Jackson says. For most others, however, the summer shows of 2021 will be happening with restricted budgets and scaled-back productions. But after more than a year of lockdowns, all are happy to be once again supporting summer shows.
