ROE Visual LED Panels at XR Stage Used for Video Imagery in Nissan Commercial

Share this Post:

CHATSWORTH, Ca. – The XR Stage, fully equipped with ROE Visual LED products, provided the stage for the latest commercial shoot for Nissan. The Framestore team choose the XR Stage for its massive film stage, ideal for bringing the Hollywood-style commercial to life.

More details from ROE (www.roevisual.com):

The XR Stage, equipped with a massive purpose build 62-foot diameter, 270-degree LED volume, consisting of ROE Visual Black Pearl BP2, and an additional LED ceiling, created with Carbon CB5 panels, is ideal for these types of shoots. With this LED volume the studio offers sufficient space to display the digital backgrounds for action shots. With over 26 million pixels, the studio is loaded with today’s top-rated XR technology, including Stype, Brompton, and ROE Visual.

Using multi-camera footage from camera arrays mounted on top of stunt cars, the team worked together with partner disguise and disguise operators from All of it Now, to stitch together the footage and display it across our 360 degrees LED volume.  The result was outstanding, merging the physical and digital to bring this thrilling commercial to life.

Framestore’s VFX supervisor, Michael Ralla, said:” The beauty of working with the LED panels is that what you see is what you get. The panels provide instant, in-camera feedback of the final pixels within the shot, as well as interactive lighting – no surprises. The entire crew can see what is happening, and even better, the director and talent can react to what’s on the screens in real-time.”
