*Gear list includes Elation fixtures used for the shows at Del Mar Fairgrounds. The rig at the Ventura Fairgrounds site was similar. The rig also included other automated lights, and some acts bring in a supplemental floor package.
Event Details:
CBF Productions and Darvik Productions teamed up to stage and light this popular series of drive-in concerts starting June 26 at Ventura County Fairgrounds north of L.A. and Del Mar Fairgrounds near San Diego on Sept. 25. A typical week at the Del Mar site, which has a capacity of 700 vehicles, included movies on a big screen, performances by local bands or theatre troupes, and bigger acts on the weekend by the likes of hip hop legend Snoop Dogg, The Beach Boys, and local band-made-good Slightly Stoopid. Sundays are reserved for church services or private events.
