For her June 2020 Designer Watch column, Debi Moen provided a roundup of industry vendors who have stepped up to minimize the ill effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. She noted how Mickey Curbishley and his wife, Jo Little, quickly responded to the immediate need for PPE for L.A.-based food banks and homeless shelters. Curbishley called an LED manufacturer in China, “and within a day, my wife and I bought 200,000 masks. And then I realized I couldn’t afford to buy them myself.” He reached out to Live Nation, Concerts West, the Bronfman family, Frassers beverages and Rock-it Cargo for funding and logistical support, and within a week, the 200,000 masks were deployed, every one of them ready to help stop the virus’ spread.
