ORLANDO, FLA. – A new training program designed to teach stage technicians the safest way to operate telescopic and front loading lifters will be introduced at WFX 2019 by Spanish company Equipson, which manufactures WORKPRO Lifters.

More details from Workpro (www.worklifters.com):

Equipson has produced a series of 15 videos, voices in English and Spanish, that demonstrate how safety issues can easily be avoided by following the correct procedures. These videos, which range in length from three to 10 minutes, cover topics such as setting up, elevating, mounting and descending telescopic and front loading lifters, how to safely move a telescopic lifter, how to mount a line array on a front loading lifer and how WireDrive works as well as how to rectify wire mistakes.

Juan Jose Vila, CSO of Equipson, says: “As manufacturers of these products we are committed to making them as safe and accessible as possible to all users. Dedicating resources to proper training is key to our approach and this is why we have devised a range of audio visual content that clearly shows the correct way to use lifters in order to avoid unnecessary and potentially fatal accidents.”

Equipson’s videos, which are free to view and hosted on the company’s own WORKPRO Lifters YouTube channel, are aimed at a wide range of staging operatives, from those working in theatres and Houses of Worship through to those operating in a live touring environment.

“It doesn’t matter what kind of show or event you are putting on – the safety aspects of using lifters remain the same,” Vila adds. “We have put these videos together because we received feedback from our own customers who felt there was a gap in the market for this type of training material. They want to learn best practise and they want their technicians to be as safe as possible, so who better to teach them than the companies that actually make the equipment and know exactly what it can and cannot do.”

In conjunction with its US distributor Etnia Pro, Equipson will be showing its own range of telescopic and front loading lifters, trusses, cables and accessories on booth 734 at WFX, which takes place in Orlando, Florida from September 17-19, 2019.

“This is just the beginning of our commitment to training,” Vila says. “We are also planning to introduce knowledge tests and a certification program for those who want to be recognized as a lifter operator and to have tangible proof of their own skill level.”
