MUNICH – Light not only allows us to see things. Light also has a tremendous influence on our moods. One and the same park can look totally different, depending on whether we are walking through it in brilliant sunshine at midday or in misty conditions at dawn.

More details from Osram (www.osram.com):

The “ability” of light to create different effects is something that theater lighting designers and artists like to use. Different scenes in a play can be lit in very different ways to take the audience on an emotional journey. A sympathetic character on stage may be bathed in warm white light, or a suspected criminal may be interrogated with the cold white light from a lamp shining in his face. In both these scenes the color temperature of the light stirs our emotions and shapes our mood – in most cases without us even being aware. Red stands for danger, blue for relaxation and green for harmony.

Osram Opto Semiconductors knows the importance of light in theater productions from its many years of experience in this field. The company is now adding a 30W version of the Osram Ostar Stage to its stage lighting portfolio. The LED is ideal for the spotlights and moving heads normally used in stage performances and at concerts. The red, true green and deep blue colors are joined for the first time by a yellow chip instead of an ultra white chip. Yellow is produced by conversion as in white LEDs. In addition to classic RGB applications, the new Osram Ostar Stage can produce a pleasant warm white light with a high color rendering index to provide exactly the right effects on any stage.

The Osram Ostar Stage also features UX:3 chip technology and high thermal stability. Because the footprint of the package is compatible with that of the predecessor models, the LED easy to install as a replacement, giving customers greater choice.
