Liberty Science Center, New Jersey, USA
The Liberty Science Center (LSC) in Jersey City, New Jersey is the largest and highest resolution planetarium in the Western Hemisphere. Opened in December 2017, the new, 400-seat Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and Giant Dome Theater features a Digistar 6 True8K system from Evans & Sutherland (E&S) with 10 Christie Boxer Series projectors and a Spitz NanoSeam screen. The new projection technology package enables LSC to perpetuate the venue’s giant screen cinema exhibition capabilities while adding state-of-the-art planetarium functionality with access to everything in the Digistar toolbox.
Wonderla Amusement Park, Hyderabad, India
The new “Mission Interstellar” ride at Wonderla Amusement Park in Hyderabad, promises all the thrills and spills that sensation-seekers are looking for. Developed using immersive technology in collaboration with US and European theme park design companies, it was officially opened in December 2017 amid much fanfare.
The ride features a 3,500 sq ft parabolic screen and visuals are powered by the Christie D4KLH60 3DLP 4K RGB laser projector, which delivers astonishing images in ultra-sharp 4K resolution, completely immersing visitors in the experience. This attraction is the first in India to be equipped with Christie’s RGB laser projection system.
Hunan Museum, Changsha, China
The newly renovated Hunan Museum in China has brought ancient Han Dynasty history to life with spectacular projections using Christie visual solutions. Installed and commissioned by Christie’s valued partner Wincomn Technology, it features over 40 Christie 1DLP laser projectors comprising HS Series and GS Series models to deliver bright and dynamic projections at various exhibition zones in the museum.
The main highlight is China’s first tomb projection at the famous Mawangdui (or King Ma’s Mound) archaeological site that houses the tomb of Lady Dai (wife of the Marquis of Dai) dating back more than 2,000 years ago. Since its reopening in November 2017, the museum has been drawing thousands of visitors daily.
Lotte World Tower Seoul Sky, South Korea
Officially opened in April 2017, Lotte World Tower Seoul Sky is the fifth tallest building in the world. A number of exciting and innovative displays featuring Christie solutions are installed here for the enjoyment of customers and visitors to Seoul Sky. These include the Christie Boxer 4K30 3DLP and Christie GS Series 1DLP laser projectors for eye-catching projections on the observation decks. The Christie Pandoras Box dual and quad players, as well as AirScan are also used to drive the projection contents and execute interactivity functions respectively.
