FRANKFURT – Automation specialist and manufacturer Kinesys enjoyed one of its busiest and most successful Prolight+Sound exhibitions in Frankfurt to date. The UK based company highlighted its new Apex chain hoist system, launched at Prolight 2017, which incorporates Kinesys’ extensive knowledge, practical experience and history as a pioneer in the world of variable speed chain hoist control technology.

Kinesys also launched a brand new product – the LibraNODE – which can enable the EXE RISE loadcell hook as well as other 3rd party loadcells to be integrated directly into a Libra monitoring network or a DigiHoist.
Kinesys MD Dave Weatherhead commented, “The show was excellent and we saw lots of quality visitors throughout, from the first moment of day one to the very end. It was without a doubt the most positive Prolight we have experienced to date! We were very happy!”
As well as seeing plenty of key European customers, end-users from rental companies and venues, plus a host of freelance riggers and show designers all with a vested interest in the advantages of automation, Dave noted a substantial international contingent.
This was especially noticeable with visitors from Asia, the Middle East, Australia and the Pan Pacific regions. “The show seems to be expanding as a meeting place and international hub for these areas, which is great news”
Kinesys has increased its business in Asia dramatically over the past few years.
Apex was the focus of attention and received lots of interest. The system comprises a range of safe, reliable and rock-solid hoists and controllers – all on display at the expo – which are designed to maximize creativity for show, stage and environment designers and operators working in all areas of entertainment.
Catching the eyes of everyone in Hall 3.0 were three screens at the center of the booth which were moved in a smooth and seamless choreographed sequence by Apex to demonstrate the precision and control of this innovative new hoist system. Here’s a video of them in action.
The expo also provided an opportunity to finalize several Apex deals which will be announced in the coming months.
The brand new LibraNODE was seen for the first time at the show, a small but powerful device that expands the reach of the Libra system significantly.
LibraNODE can be attached to any hoist with a load-cell hook or with other load sensors that use common industry methods of outputting data (0-10V / 4-20 mA). It can be linked into a Libra network and provide accurate real-time load information just like any LibraCELL. This offers those running hoists systems additional flexibility and all the advantages of running Kinesys’ highly respected Libra monitoring system.
