FLORIDA – Pangolin’s new BEYOND 4.0 software was designed to accommodate a growing interest in laser displays across several key demographics, including lighting design, architectural lighting, digital signage and multimedia productions.

More details from Pangolin (https://Pangolin.com ):

Always mindful of requests from the lighting and laser community, Pangolin has been actively working on improving the tools inside of their BEYOND laser and multimedia software, in preparation for the release of version 4.0.

The new updates in BEYOND 4.0 help set the software up to accommodate a growing interest in laser displays across several key categories, including lighting design, multimedia production, architectural lighting, and digital signage.

LASER CONTROL, FOR LIGHTING DESIGNERS

With BEYOND 4.0, Pangolin is making laser control for lighting designers easier than ever before, by expanding upon their well-known DMX and ArtNET server inside the program.

This intelligent setup allows BEYOND to act as a media server for the console, and gives designers the ability to quickly and easily create their own customizable laser looks across hundreds of laser projectors in a single setup. All while controlling everything directly from their console.

It also allows designers to control a much larger number of fixtures, as demonstrated with the recent Guinness Book of World Record’s “Largest Laser Show”, performed by ER Productions in Las Vegas, Nevada during the past LDI exhibition. During this event, ER used Pangolin’s BEYOND DMX and ArtNET server to control 300 laser projectors all at the same time.

Unlike other simple DMX controllers for lasers, BEYOND’s DMX and ArtNET server puts a much greater degree of customization and control into the hands of lighting designers, so that they can create their own custom gobos, prisms, colors and effects for each individual projector and projection zone in their setup. In this fashion, they are not limited by pre-made content as they are with other laser control platforms.

LASER MAPPING AND DIGITAL SIGNAGE

Another major advancement with BEYOND 4.0, is Pangolin’s new Distributed Scanning feature. This new tool allows designers to create more sophisticated projected laser displays, by automatically breaking laser content up across multiple projectors in a single setup. This becomes a huge advantage when creating complex laser mapping shows for architectural lighting projects, as well as projected laser logos, graphics and text for digital signage… Two of the fastest growing segments in the laser display and projection industry.

LASERS IN MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTIONS

Multimedia productions where lasers are used together with other lighting, video, pyro, audio and more are growing rapidly. Just go to any theme park or stadium, and you can see this first hand.

Pangolin took this into account when developing BEYOND 4.0, and has further expanded upon their award winning FB4 control hardware, providing a direct content upload and management system for lasers inside of BEYOND 4.0.

Now, designers can create custom content in BEYOND 4.0, and directly upload it to a laser with FB4 integrated inside, all over a network cable. Even more, that content can be set to playback at a specified day, date, and time, so that the laser can truly run itself automatically, with only power connected. And because FB4 itself supports all major lighting protocols, this workflow can easily be integrated into any major multimedia setup. This feature has been highly requested among theme parks, stadiums and locations where lasers are permanently installed.

FREE TRAINING SEMINARS

For those wanting to see the power of BEYOND 4.0, Pangolin will be showcasing these new effects at the upcoming Prolight+Sound Exhibition in Frankfurt, Germany, with a free open house taking place the day after the show on April 14th at the Mercure Hotel in Frankfurt. Following this, they will also have the software on displays upcoming InfoComm and LDI exhibitions in Las Vegas.

Pangolin also invites clients to try the software for free, by downloading a demo version: www.pangolin.com/beyond.
