AUSTIN – High End Systems announces that the 2018 HogFactor USA competition is in full swing, with over 20 collegiate teams already registered to participate in Phase One. First held in 2015, High End Systems’ HogFactor Collegiate Lighting Programming Competition has become the premier lighting programming contest in the United States and across the globe.

More details from High End (www.highend.com):

HogFactor USA Phase One is an open competition and consists of each team providing a performance lighting piece, programmed on a Hog or on Hog 4 PC, which can be downloaded free of charge with a special demo version of Light Converse visualization. Once performance piece submission closes on June 30, 2018, the top three teams will be selected by July 31, and Phase Two will see these teams programming a performance lighting piece based on High End Systems’ 2018 LDI booth design. These teams will then be invited to perform their shows live at LDI on the High End Systems booth, where the winners will be judged.

High End Systems’ Paul Hancock commented, “We are looking forward to this year’s Hog Factor Competition. Just like our parent company, High End Systems is committed to cultivating the next generation of Hog Programmers. The popularity of this competition has grown exponentially each year, and the complexity of work is constantly improving. I cannot wait to see what the students achieve this year!”

ETC Vice President of Marketing David Lincecum added, “HogFactor is exciting, rewarding and educational for the students, but equally so for the crowds that watch! The audience is really engaged in every beat of the performance.”
