BERLIN — Skalar is a 45-by-20-by-10-meter light and sound installation created by light artist Christopher Bauder and musician / composer Kangding Ray as part of the CTM Festival 2018. The artwork opened Jan. 27 and runs through Feb. 25 within Berlin’s Kraftwerk venue, a former power station and communal heating plant in Berlin’s Mitte district.
More details from Robe (www.robe.cz):
Staged in the impressively large and hauntingly raw industrial space offered by Berlin’s amazing ‘Kraftwerk’ venue – a former power station and communal heating plant in the Mitte district of the city – the installation is part of the CTM Festival 2018.
It runs daily until February 25th.
We are proud to be a technical partner in this invigorating sound and lighting sculpture which explores of the complex relationships and impact of light and sound on human perceptions.
Christopher Bauder together with multidisciplinary art and design studio WHITEvoid and Kinetic Lights utilizes numerous moving mirrors attached to special winches flown above the audience combined with the 90 x Pointes projecting precisely synchronized beams of light. A multi-channel sound system delivers a richly textured rhythmic soundscape.
The 45 meters long 20 meters wide environment has 10 meters of headroom and promises to be perfect for an intense physical and psychological journey through a cycle of basic human emotions.
Be prepared to be amazed!
