Building a Bridge – Literally – for a Corporate Event

Share this Post:

Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) annual re:Invent Conference, staged in Las Vegas the last week of November, was big enough to require the use of multiple hotels including MGM, Aria, Venetian/Palazzo, and more. To help connect the dots, Production Club worked with AG to build a bridge – and not just in the metaphorical sense. This was a literal bridge, stretching 100 feet to connect the Sands Expo Center to the Linq parking lot, where AG also erected three huge temporary structures for the event. The bridge extended across the street, but went beneath the monorail that separated the two areas. Through the use a 90-ton crane and some clever engineering to piece the sections together, the team completed the project for the second year in a row, while admitting they needed to overcome some of the initial challenges from the original design and some skeptical officials along the way.
