Tour Notes:
Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Gimmie Love” tour, in support of her third album, Emotion, ran from mid-Sept. 2015 to late March, with four more shows in Japan in April.
Designer Insights:
LD Charles Ford is a one-man lighting team who sets up, programs and operates his show daily. For Carly Rae Jepson’s floor package, “I chose the Ayrton MagicDots fixtures because of their compact size, speed, and optics; and the Robe CycFX 4, because on a budget they create a very unique look and are quite versatile.” These augmented whatever lights were in the house daily.
The Setup:
Rose Brand constructed four square screens that were hung in a 45° diamond angle. Each side of the screens was covered with Robe CycFX4 fixtures and Ayrton MagicDots. Elation Snipers were hung vertically in groups of three to separate the screens.
