What makes for a successful and productive team? This year’s Parnelli Visionary Award winner, David Cunningham, might be able to provide some insight, according to Mike Kiktavi, who worked with Cunningham at Entertec before going to ETC. “Dave is an unbelievably good project manager, totally exceptional at keeping it all together,” Kiktavi says. This is how Cunningham himself describes his not-any-more-complicated-than-it-has-to-be management philosophy. “It really became like a theatre ensemble — everyone working together without a lot of explanation or politics. We would just meet once a week and keep everyone focused. We’d go down a punch list of what we were trying to accomplish, and pretty much people would go off and do what needed to be done.”
