The Osram RLD6 LED Recessed Downlight is a six-inch LED architectural downlight that promises energy savings up to 65 percent. The product is positioned as a long-life alternative to compact fluorescents, halogen and metal halide sources.
More details from Osram (www.osram-americas.com):
Perfect for providing high quality general illumination in lobbies and hallways, the OSRAM RLD6 Recessed LED Downlight is highly efficient with typical efficacies of up to 79 lumens per watt (LPW), and has a life rating of 50,000 hours (L70). The unique glare-free optical system is comprised of a highly reflective upper reflector inside the mixing chamber that controls beam shaping and light distribution. The lower reflector provides deep lamp-to-lamp image cutoff of 46 degrees and an aesthetically pleasing light quality. Assembled in the United States, this system combines to create a highly efficient luminaire that produces low aperture brightness for comfortable light and a near ‘silent’ ceiling, delivering exceptional beam uniformity and cut- off. The 1200 lumen (18W) downlight provides performance similar to 1x32W, 1x42W or 2x26W compact fluorescent downlights, and, ideal for higher ceiling applications, the 2000 lumen (30W) downlight provides performance similar to 2X32W compact fluorescent or 1x70W metal halide downlights.
The downlight for 120V-277VAC operation incorporates OSRAM PrevaLED® Core light engines that provide color consistency within a 3-step MacAdam ellipse and OSRAM OPTOTRONIC power supplies with built-in 0-10VDC protocol for continuous, smooth dimming down to 1 percent. RLD6 downlights are available in 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K CCT packages and four standard trim finishes, and are covered by a five-year warranty. They are RoHS-compliant and designed to meet ENERGY STAR qualifications for utility incentives.
Nearly eliminating UV radiation, new single-end OSRAM HMI UVS Metal Halide lamps come with an orange base and are available in 200W, 400W, 575W, 800W, 1200W, 1600W and 1800W versions, delivering 16,000 to 165,000 lumens with an average rated life up to 1000 hours. Invented by OSRAM in 1967, HMI lamps remain the standard light source for the film and television industry because they simulate daylight color temperature conditions of 6000K and have excellent color rendering (90+) with photometric integrity throughout their life. In fact, OSRAM received an OSCAR® in 1987 and a PRIMETIME EMMY® Engineering award in 2007 for the invention and continuous improvement of HMI lamp technology. Highly efficient HMI lamps have a high luminous efficacy of nearly 100 LPW and are available in single or double end with wattages ranging from 200 to 24,000. Dimmable, with a hot restart capacity, OSRAM HMI lamps are over five times more efficient than incandescent light. Applications include exhibition lighting; film, TV and video productions; industrial solar simulation; lighting for major events; professional photography; and stage lighting such as theatre and opera.
