LAKE FOREST, CA — Saddleback Church called CCI Solutions with an Easter challenge. With as many as 35,000 converging at the campus here for holiday services, the church needed LED walls in two of the tents erected for overflow crowds. CGI Solutions turned to Absen to obtain the required 3.9mm LED video gear with a three-week turnaround. The result: a 9.84 by 16.4 foot video wall for Tent 2 and 6.56 by 11.48 foot video wall for Tent 3.

With campuses in 13 cities and five different countries, Saddleback Church is one of the largest churches in the U.S. and is continuing to grow through planting new campuses across the world. While the worship is often unique to each venue, the message is delivered via video in nearly every venue, so the team at Saddleback places a high value on their video infrastructure and delivery systems. With that commitment to excellence in mind, Saddleback’s Technical Director Greg Baker called CCI Solutions’ Duke DeJong 4 weeks out from Easter with challenge.
With anticipated attendance of 35,000 people for Easter weekend at the Lake Forest campus alone, the Saddleback leadership team decided in late March it was time to upgrade their LED walls in two of the tents used for weekend service overflow and other weekly events. Besides an extremely tight deadline, the 9.84’ by 16.4’ video wall for Tent 2 and 6.56’ by 11.48’ video wall for Tent 3 needed to deliver clean, crisp video that made people sitting as close as 20’ from the screens feel like they were a part of the service happening in the main auditorium. “At Saddleback, services for our on-site video venues are nearly completely delivered via video. From worship to the message, our screens have to be great,” says Baker.
Baker issued the challenge to CCI Solutions, who in partnership with Absen managed to deliver and install high resolution 3.9 mm LED video walls with a 3 week turnaround, completing installation the day before Easter services began. “We’ve worked with Saddleback for many years and we know how critical their video delivery is for all of their campuses, so when the call came for new LED video walls for Tents Two and Three, Absen was the no-brainer choice for us. Their LED panels look great, and their customer support has been tremendous. They really made this project happen for us and Saddleback by being so responsive with getting us the panels Saddleback wanted,” says DeJong.
“With the addition of our new Absen A3 Pro LED walls, there has been a noticeable improvement to these spaces with greater quality and clarity in our video presentation. And we’ve enjoyed working with the Absen team as they’ve provided great customer service and technical training to our team,” comments Baker.
